Q: Larger Nappies for Children With Special Needs
I'm finding it very difficult to find nappies for my child who has special needs (is older than most children that are still in nappies and doesn't fit extra large disposable nappies) and isn't toilet trained as yet. Can you help me?
A:
Yes I certainly can!!
Please email me at: pandababy@pandababy.com.au and we can sort something out for you :)
Q: Sizing
What sizes do you make your nappies?
A:
Extra Small (XS) - 0kg to 3kg - these nappies are very rare and I will make them if a customer requests this size.
Small (S) - 3kg to 6kg with a rise of 40cm
Medium (M) - 6kg to 10kg with a rise of 46cm
OSMF/(ML) (One Size Fits Most) - 6kg - 12kg - rise of approx 48cm - this size is really a cross between medium and large. If you have a chubby baby - I recommend size Large :)
Large (L) - 10kg to 16kg with a rise of 50cm
Extra Large (XL) - 16kg+ These nappies are also rare and can be made if requested by a customer. Rise depending on size of child.
I should note that I have also made the tabs longer (around the back) for an even better fit :) OSFM (M/L) may have extra snaps for a better fitting.
It is important to get the correct measurement of your baby to get the right size.
You can measure the rise by either measuring a nappy (that already fits your baby) from top to bottom (stretched out) OR by getting a tape measure and measuring your baby naked (loosely - not tight) from the belly button, under the crotch and up to where the belly button would sit if it was on the baby's back.
I hope this helps. I'm happy to adjust sizing to suit your baby. Please email me at pandababy@pandababy.com.au if you have any questions what-so-ever :)
Q: Boomerang Pillow-Slip Chairs
How do your boomerang pillow-slip chairs work?
A:
Basically, all you do is put the pillow-slip on a regular sized boomerang pillow, snap the t-bar in place and sit baby inside with the t-bar at the front, usually placed around the tummy of the baby and legs out in front.

Q: Why Modern Cloth Nappies?
Why use modern cloth nappies?
A:
I'm just going to tell you how it is without going into any crap (excuse the pun!) The initial outlay for these nappies might seem like a lot at the time, but over 2-3 years, you can save up to $3000 if you were using Modern Cloth Nappies as opposed to disposables. I like going past the nappies in the supermarket and not putting a packet in my trolley
Disposable nappies also clog up landfill, so using these nappies, you actually are doing something for the environment.
Gone are the days of soaking and folding and all that time wasting stuff....all these nappies need is - for poos - to put as much as you can in the toilet then rinse and for wees - a quick rinse and then washed with the rest of your clothes and hung out to dry. No bleach is necessary, no soaking and you don't need to use extra washing detergent.
See - VERY easy to use, your saving money AND doing your bit for the environment

Q: Panda Baby Nappies
What fabrics/materials do you use to make your nappies?
A:
Each "Panda Day" nappy comprises of:
Microfleece, Fluffy Fleece or quilters cotton outer (covering)
4 layers of organic bamboo, sewn inside
A lay-in booster made from fleece covering microfibre with snaps
Adjustable side snaps to suit most babies
Flannelette, cotton velour or microfleece inner
Soft, good quality elastic in the legs and back for better fitting and no leakage
A layer of breathable waterproofing (Polyurethane laminate (or "PUL") is generally a Polyester interlock knit fabric that has been laminated to a thin film of Polyurethane.
Each "Panda Nights" nappy comprises of:
Malden Mills Wind Pro fleece outer (Wind Pro has a durable water repellent outer surface which is anti-pill for a long-lasting durable nappy wash after wash)
Sherpa inside (Sherpa is a knit terry fabric which has a fluffy, super soft feel).
4 layers of organic cotton (15%)/bamboo (85%) sewn inside the nappy.
2 boosters made from: 3 layers of organic bamboo/cotton 1 layer of matching sherpa (on top) 1 layer of matching Wind Pro fleece (on the bottom)
All my nappies are overlocked on the inside, as well as the boosters, to prevent them from coming undone. If your nappy comes apart - I would like to know how LOL!
There are side snaps to these nappies. One booster snaps in place and the other is placed wherever you feel is the best place for your baby. These nappies are also not that bulky so baby can still wear their pyjamas or growth suit without any hassles :)
Q: Washing Modern Cloth Nappies
How do I wash my modern cloth nappies?
A:
Gone are the days of soaking in many different bleaches and folding etc!
In order for long-time use of your Panda Baby nappy, I recommend:
Empty poos in the toilet
Rinse nappy
Place nappy in a dry bucket no soaking necessary
When the bucket is full or its been two days (leaving nappy longer without properly washing may damage the waterproofing (PUL) inside the nappy) place all the nappies into your washing machine
Do a quick rinse to remove urine (adjust the water level and cold water is to be used)
You may add other clothing if you wish to the load.
Use only half the amount of detergent that you would normally use as a build up of detergent can affect the waterproofing as well. You can use cold or warm water its up to you. Never use vinegar as this can also deteriorate the waterproofing (PUL) inside the nappy.
Hang outside with the inside of the nappy facing the sun. The sun will also fade any stains (if there are any) Nappies can also be dried in the dryer, although excessive use of the dryer can deteriorate the elastic.
